There is no issue more pressing for society or dire for the individual than that of their own personal power and freedom.
If one does not know or like themselves they are destined to be possessed by the ideas in their local environment or have the muscles of their spirit - that of agency, independent thought, courage, self-expression, creativity, and joy (among countless other -logues, both ana & homo).
If this happens then one’s life no longer belongs to them, they merely live within a hall of mirrors consisting of their past. One flees from their fears into the conditional embrace of their fantasies before the two morph into one another and the cycle starts once more.
It sounds terrifying but I believe that 95% of the world lives lives’ of this sad degree of luminosity.
It is absolutely pertinent that one embarks on the journey and frees themselves from the chains that surround their minds. When one’s own intuitive guidance in life is compromised, one becomes open to the dominant ideas of their community. One is forced to conform to the others around them, even if it strongly contradicts their own internal knowing, because life DEMANDS CERTAINTY. Without it, the foundation of one’s entire being is unstable. That stability MUST be reinstated before action can be taken.
One can not walk on a floor that crumbles beneath their feet.
So, too, can one not live without a solid conceptual foundation of how they should live.
But externally-sourced existential & moral frameworks are inherently flawed because the only conviction one has to them is their convenience. One does not value them because of their content but because of the pragmatic value of soothing their discomfort.
One holds no loyalty or allegiance when they lack self-trust & respect.
How do you think so many people did so many horrible, tragic things in the 20th century? Because they were just following orders?
It goes so much further than the things you do when faced with the choice of integrity or death, it affects the deepest way you see yourself and how you relate on a fundamental level with reality:
Other people’s perspectives and values become your God.
Worship is not optional.
What’s the alternative?
Everything you’ve ever wanted.
The dream that you think is too good to be true - the seed in your mind that keeps your hope alive. The fullest, most expansive expression of who you are.
Complete erasure of self-imposed suffering and self-doubt.
Self-determination takes the helm from the trembling hands of fear and the scared, sad, misunderstood child grows up and fills out the once-too-big body and light finally touches their soft, beautiful, lovable face.
That’s you. That’s your destiny.
Sorry, not my choice.
It’s either this or a life of suffering, strife, and dispossession. No middle ground.
Sorry, but, is that what you want?
To be caught between yourself and others, eventually torn apart by the tension between two parties that are never truly satisfied while hate and resentment fill your body with the cortisol that crystallises between the muscle fibers of your back?
Soothe it with some piss or yarndi and repeat that rhetoric about how unfair life is and how hard you try.
Rinse & repeat.
As the Great Man said:
“total destruction the only solution”
Fucking terrifying right?
Yeah. It is. It’s the scariest thing in our whole worlds because it’s the source of our pain and suffering. We were told by the world that we - us, the unique and real, feeling, wide-eyed, excited being - isn’t allowed in this world.
Fundamentally being rejected by the world is an event that, once accepted, is of, if not, the most personal and deepest of wounds we can receive - it’s always coerced. We never consent.
And we shouldn’t put up with it any longer.
Life is too short.
Like another Great Man said:
“anything lost can be found again except for time wasted.”
Shit’s finite.
How much do you think you have left?
What would you do with it if you knew?
